Well, considering my severe lack of a social life, I spent much of the day listening to the various drum takes of Change To Survive and Getting Out. I also had to sift through the various timpani parts from the other night.
Whilst this appears to be mundane, I actually quite enjoy it. It’s sessions like these where you just spend some “self-time” listening to the tracks, taking your time and getting your head around where the hell everything is.
Change To Survive’s drum tracks sound very cool indeed. Really liked the idea of the cardigan on the floor tom.
I want to do some marching band stuff on Getting Out. Looks like we’ll be getting Dave Kirby back in for some more fun.
The timpani’s were OK, but I think in Somewhere Else For A Day, they are a little overplayed. Anyway, I zapped a copy of a mix up to Jarrod for his ears.
In order for this project to go smoothly, we needed a reliable (and cheap) way of exchanging files. Jarrod found the answer with www.box.net. I love it, and it’s so easy. I found at times it was a little slow to upload, but generally it’s very cool.
